Some projects are sensitive, some have copyright restrictions, others are not suitable for the web. Perhaps this is why there is little listed here from Illiany Hamdan
Illiany Hamdan is a Master's Researcher on the MAT Programme. She has a background in interaction design and creative coding. She earned a BSc Computer Science & Multimedia from Queen Mary and since then she has been exploring more on the intersection of creative media art & science by investigating the benefits of using technology and traditional media, including craft. She began her research in those fields by pursuing to create a sonification system for the visually impaired people for her undergraduate final year project. She explored the area of visual perception and cognition and the correlation between colours & sound as well as shapes and sound using different types of mapping in auditory display and sensory substitution systems.Inspiration of her work comes from being open minded and taking into consideration the varying perspectives, as opposed to just one. Through her work she aims to challenge the audience to interpret an idea by accepting the fact that not everyone thinks as they do.
